The general objective of this research was to describe the challenges of dissemination and diffusion of scientific knowledge from doctoral education. The research was carried out from a quantitative approach, through the exploration, collection and critical analysis by means of a documentary typology, with a bibliographic design. In addition, documentary sources at a theoretical level and peer-reviewed papers related to the central aspects of the work, such as: theses, scientific articles and peer-reviewed journals were analyzed, developing a content analysis. It is concluded that doctoral training constitutes one of the pillars of the generation and exchange of knowledge, resulting from the research process carried out by doctoral students in universities, through the exchange that is fostered in the training and development environments of future doctors.
