The general objective of the research was to analyze teaching from the perspective of critical thinking as a challenge in teaching. The research work was based on the quantitative approach with descriptive correlational design, being its data collected to be analyzed for the corresponding reflection. The sample consisted of 206 students between the ages of 9 and 10 years old, whose performance allowed teachers to evaluate the development of critical thinking. Documentary sources were also reviewed for theoretical support. As a result, it was specified that the level of the critical thinking variable is at a good level with 53.4%; thus, it was concluded that critical thinking allowed students to complement their abilities to face academic, emotional, affective, psychological and family problems, among others.
