The aim of the current study was to analyze the role play and oral expression of the English language in university students. From the methodological point of view, the research was carried out under a descriptive quantitative approach. Observation was used as a technique and the Likert scale as an instrument. The sample consisted of 60 students and 20 English teachers from different universities. The results showed that this strategy constituted a significant way for fluency, vocabulary increase, coherence and effective interaction among English speakers. Consequently, it was concluded that the application of role play led to the development of oral expression.
