The objective of this study was to elucidate the factors that influenced the teaching of hygiene in Peruvian university students for the preservation of their physical and mental health. As for the methodology, a qualitative approach with a hermeneutic design was used. Using the snowball technique, interviews were conducted with 5 experts. The results showed that education has played a fundamental role in the hygiene habits of university students, generating awareness of healthy practices for the prevention of diseases and contagions. Therefore, it was concluded that hygiene education favors behavioral change towards quality of life.
