Environmental education is currently seen as the most effective way for the environment to be preserved; its purpose is to achieve a real environmental culture at the social level. The objective of this research was to analyze the effectiveness of the Environmental Education Program (EEP) at the secondary school level. With a qualitative approach, a documentary review was carried out based on the Prisma methodology. The documents were consulted in the WoS, SciELO, and Scopus databases. The results revealed that the environmental education programs implemented at the secondary school level show quite satisfactory particularities. It was concluded that the EEP is effective in raising awareness of environmental problems among high school students, as evidenced by the evidence presented.
