Abstract

PONCE-FIGUEROA, Mariana Alexandra. Stimulation of executive functions and their influence on academic performance. Koinonía [online]. 2023, vol.8, suppl.2, pp.723-738.  Epub July 19, 2024. ISSN 2542-3088.  https://doi.org/10.35381/r.k.v8i2.2947.

The objective of this research was to explore in depth the relationship between the stimulation of executive functions and the academic performance of elementary school students. As a methodology, a quantitative descriptive approach was used, which was carried out through the survey technique and the use of a questionnaire. The results determined important factors such as: the positive relationship between working memory stimulation and academic performance, self-regulation in academic success and age differences in the effectiveness of the interventions. Thus, the following was concluded: working memory stimulation is effective, self-regulation is essential for academic success, age matters in interventions, and diversity of approaches is a key to effective student performance.
