The objective of this study was to analyze the management of solid waste from a documentary review. The descriptive research methodology was used to identify the limited knowledge that municipal authorities have about the management and handling of MSW and NDWM. There is a need to improve the process of MSW and NDW management, in order to provide benefits to the population in rural and dispersed areas and in dairy farms. The MIDIS Territorial Teams should accompany and provide technical assistance to local governments for the implementation of solid waste management agendas within the framework of the PNDIS priorities, linking them to the management instruments of regional governments in order to promote proper management and solid waste management in Tambo areas.
