The objective was to analyze the environmental culture in university higher education. Systematic search was used for the review and 16 scientific papers relevant to the topic to be studied were selected. Environmental culture is the main characteristic of environmental education because both trends can enrich the knowledge of environmental education and make humans aware of their role and assume their responsibilities in the management and protection of ecosystem resources. The management of the information obtained from the articles analyzed allows integrating education for globalization with teaching practices that relate the complexities of human life with the planet within the paradigm of sustainable development and with the process of environmental education aimed at understanding the process of environmental development.
