The general objective of this article was to analyze virtual environments and their importance in teaching performance. Methodologically, the research was based on a quantitative and descriptive approach. The sample consisted of 40 university teachers from different universities. The sample was selected intentionally according to several selection criteria. Observation was used as a technique and a structured questionnaire was used as an instrument. Among the results, the following findings stood out: improvement in student-teacher interaction, optimization of autonomous learning, expansion of access to educational resources and significant challenges. In conclusion, it was determined that the effective integration of virtual environments was perceived positively by the participating teachers.
