Resumen

MEZA-MOLINA, Daniel Alfredo  y  LUGO-RUBIO, María José. Latin America in the context of Chinese multilateralism: The strip and the road. Koinonía [online]. 2025, vol.10, n.19, pp.169-189.  Epub 20-Mar-2025. ISSN 2542-3088.  https://doi.org/10.35381/r.k.v10i19.4386.

China's influence on the Latin American economy in the last twenty years is known. Investment, the conception of the new Chinese ideal and the proposals for integrative plans for future investments are aspects that denote the search for a project that points towards the consolidation of a multilateral order of power. The objective of this article is to open a discussion about the type of economic relationship that has been developing between Latin America and China. Under the application of a documentary methodology, the socioeconomic evolution of Chinese politics in the global context is reviewed; It also updates and develops its approaches, position and influence in some Latin American countries. Among the most notable findings is that multilateralism is questioned today, and the results of agreements with Latin America tend to demonstrate that the intentions of China's projects correspond to the replacement of one hegemonic power by another.

Palabras clave : China; Latin America; hegemonic power; economic relationship; integrative project; multilateral order.
