The general objective of the research was to analyze the principle of simplicity versus causal requirements: Evolution of divorce in contemporary comparative law. A methodological design integrating documentary-bibliographic and analytical-synthetic approaches was employed. In addition, it relied on the documentary-bibliographic method which included an exhaustive review of: Refereed articles from scientific journals and documents from public agencies. The analytical-synthetic method was applied. This facilitated an integral and deep understanding of the phenomenon studied. It is concluded that the resistance between the principle of simplicity and the causal requirements is the driving force behind the modernization of divorce in comparative law. The results show a clear inclination towards procedural simplification and uncaused divorce, facilitating access and reducing trauma.
