The purpose of this study was to analyze the construction of gender identities in lower secondary school through an examination of persistent stereotypes. The methodology was based on the interpretive paradigm, a qualitative approach, and a documentary study design. The techniques employed were grounded in systematic review and content analysis. Among the tools, data sheets and analysis matrices were used. Furthermore, the PRISMA statement was used to guide the selection of articles. As a result, aspects such as the value placed on human talent, harmonious interaction between genders, and equity in education and the workplace, among others, that could foster coexistence among human beings, were identified.
