The general objective of the research was to analyze sustainable development and the right to water: A global perspective. The approach taken by the researcher for the development of the method was based on the quantitative approach, through enquiry, collection and critical analysis of documents and bibliographic references, based on the methodical, rigorous and in-depth exploration of various documentary sources made up of articles, standards and agreements, among others, describing the findings. Documentary review was used as a technique. The inductive-deductive method was also used. It is concluded that the study demonstrates how the right to water is closely related to sustainable development, highlighting the importance of ensuring that everyone has safe, sufficient and affordable access to safe drinking water. It recommends the adoption of comprehensive policies that promote the sustainable management of water resources.
