The salary reclassification of social security administrative officials in Ecuador reveals findings on salary equity in the public sector. A discrepancy was identified between workers' functions and the remuneration they receive, which underlines the need to address this issue. The objective is to analyze the lack of salary reclassification of administrative employees of the IESS in Ecuador. The analysis, based on a mixed hermeneutic methodology, shows a salary gap between what civil servants should receive according to the regulations and what they receive. This situation not only affects the quality of life of the workers, but also has repercussions on the quality of service offered by the IESS. As a result of the investigation, the report advocates for a revision of salary scales and the promotion of a fairer and more equitable work environment.
