The method developed in this research was based on the quantitative approach, which allowed the analysis of the object of study to be established. A documentary bibliographic design was used; the study population was based mainly on refereed works, written documents and texts. In addition, a systematic review was carried out, using a protocol that made it possible to organize the information. It was carried out in two phases: titles and abstracts were reviewed and their suitability confirmed, and the full text was analyzed and reviewed. In conclusion, the principle of the best interest of the adolescent offender is fundamental in the legal sphere and refers to the priority consideration of guaranteeing the well-being and integral development of minors in any decision affecting them.
