Abstract

ACUNA-GALINDO, Nadyr Priscila; RUIZ-CORONEL, Kevin Alexis  and  GARCIA-SEGARRA, Holger Geovannny. Faceless Judges in Ecuador: Constitutional Analysis and Feasibility of Implementation in the Judicial System. Iustitia Socialis [online]. 2025, vol.10, n.19, pp.4-16.  Epub Nov 20, 2025. The general objective of the research was to determine the constitutionality and feasibility of implementing the figure of faceless judges in the Ecuadorian judicial system. The method used was based on the positivist paradigm from a quantitative perspective, supported by a descriptive methodology with a non-experimental documentary-bibliographic design. The data were collected using methods such as exhaustive reading, note taking and extraction of relevant information according to the documentary design. A documentary review of scientific journals, conventions, laws and statistical data was carried out. It is concluded that, the exhaustive analysis on the implementation of a system of judicial protection of faceless judges in Ecuador reveals a clear viability within the current constitutional framework, without the need for substantial reforms. The comparative experience with Colombia offers solid evidence on the potential effectiveness of these measures.
