Abstract

HERRERA-MARQUEZ, Zuleida  and  CASTELLANOS-HERRERA, Silvio José. Decentralized governance and popular participation. Iustitia Socialis [online]. 2025, vol.10, n.19, pp.17-28.  Epub Nov 20, 2025. ISSN 2542-3371.  https://doi.org/10.35381/racji.v10i19.4552.

The general objective of the research was to analyze decentralized governance and popular participation. A documentary-exploratory study was carried out, reviewing databases, refereed articles and laws. The research implemented documentary analysis as the main technique, through a methodical and systematic review. A logical analysis and argumentation matrix was used for data collection. This method not only guides interpretative decisions, but also justifies them. Consequently, each decision reached a level of acceptability and reasonableness directly proportional to the soundness of its rationale. In conclusion, more and more societies and governments are committed and obliged to implement Governance as a means of protagonist participation, based on the idea that social needs are infinite and the resources to satisfy them are limited.

Keywords : Community participation; decentralization; constitution.
