Resumen

GIL-OSUNA, Bartolomé. Crime in Roman law. Source of obligations. Iustitia Socialis [online]. 2025, vol.10, n.19, pp.102-114.  Epub 20-Nov-2025. ISSN 2542-3371.  https://doi.org/10.35381/racji.v10i19.4594.

The general objective of the research was to analyze the crime in Roman law. Source of obligations. The method was developed from the quantitative perspective; it was supported by a descriptive methodology with non-experimental documentary-bibliographic design. Data was collected using methods such as exhaustive reading, note taking and extraction of relevant information according to the documentary design. We proceeded to the documentary review of scientific journals, linked to the research topic, which constituted the study population. It is concluded that the analysis of private crimes in Roman Law, from historical, legal and dogmatic perspectives, is justified by the need to understand the evolution of legal concepts that are still fundamental in modern legal systems. By approaching these offenses from a multidimensional approach, it becomes evident not only their relevance in the structure of Roman law.

Palabras clave : Law; civil liability; legal theory.
