GUACHO-GUACHO, María Magdalena; ROSERO-ORDONEZ, Shirley Fernanda  e  FLORES-BRITO, Pedro Renato. Educational intervention strategy on pap smear in women aged 25 to 64. Salud y Vida [online]. 2022, vol.6, n.11, pp.4-13.  Epub 03-Nov-2022. ISSN 2610-8038.  https://doi.org/10.35381/s.v.v6i11.1556.

Objective:

To design an educational intervention strategy on the Pap smear in women aged 25 to 64 years.

Methodology:

A cross-sectional correlational descriptive type design was used.

Results:

85% of women who die from cervical cancer never had a Pap test. In the last 3 years, the percentage of Latinas (with medical insurance, access to health, dental access and vaccinations), who had preventive Pap tests was 86.7% and below white women who registered 87.1 percent.

In conclusion:

The women in the study group predominate those between 25 and 34 years old, basic education, married women and housewives. Unsatisfactory knowledge about the Pap smear predominates in the study population. A relationship is found between the concept dimension of the Pap smear and the level of education.

Palavras-chave : PAP test; early intervention education; cervical neoplasms.
