Objective:
To analyze the competencies of the nursing professional and the profile of graduation in the nursing career of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM), located in Manta - Ecuador.
Method:
Documentary observational type.
Results and Conclusion:
The graduates of the nursing career at the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM) consider that the training received is in line with the reality of labor demands; however, considering the existence of 25% who are not completely satisfied, it is necessary to deepen the generation of a curricular reform, in which the training in family, community and intercultural care and educational, administrative, epidemiological and investigative bases of nursing care are deepened. Therefore, the nursing professional must be a person with an inclusive vision and prepared integrally to attend all patients without any type of discrimination.
