Objective:
The overall objective of the research was to explore reminiscence techniques as a form of cognitive stimulation in Alzheimer's disease.
Method:
The method developed in this study was based on the quantitative perspective using the documentary-bibliographic typology that helped to establish the analysis of the object of research.
Results:
Reminiscence therapy contributes to memory conditioning, involves the use of a variety of triggers, including images, videos, objects, music and smells.
Conclusions:
Reminiscence techniques are presented as an effective form of cognitive stimulation in patients with Alzheimer's disease. These techniques allow evoking past memories and experiences, which improves the cognitive and emotional function of patients. It is important to understand that each patient is unique.
