ROMERO-CHICA, Paula Dayana y CAMPOVERDE-TORRES, Cristian Hernán. Successful placement of microimplants in orthodontics, according to their location and degree of insertion. Objective:
The aim of this systematic review was to analyze the success of mini-screw placement in orthodontics according to their location and degree of insertion.
Methods:
A systematic survey of information was carried out by searching for scientific articles in three digital databases such as Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, through the descriptors of health sciences in Spanish and English DeCs with their respective Boolean operators and, or, not, following the PRISMA criteria.
Results:
Multiple researches were identified that studied the effectiveness rate in the placement of mini-screws, giving as a result that the mini-screws located in the maxilla provide greater stability than those in the mandible, and also that an insertion angle of 90° could provide greater biological stability by presenting a greater retention bone surface.
Palabras clave : Anchorage methods in orthodontics; orthodontics; location; torque..
