Resumen
CEDENO-ROMERO, Michelle Stefany y VILLACIS-COPO, Katherine Viviana. Evaluation of the need for extractions in class II division 1 patients. A literature review. Salud y Vida [online]. 2025, vol.9, n.esp1, pp.102-116. Epub 30-Oct-2025. ISSN 2610-8038. https://doi.org/10.35381/s.v.v9i1.4540.
Objective:
To establish the criteria for performing extractions in class II division 1 patients
Method:
A literature review was carried out with a descriptive approach on the extractive criteria in class II division 1 patients.
Results and Conclusions:
The literature review of each of the articles was carried out where it was obtained that the findings indicate that the extraction of premolars significantly improves the discrepancy between tooth size and arch length during treatment. In this case, extractions in various cases continue to be a useful tool to achieve adequate occlusion, however, they must always be properly planned.
