Resumen

FONSECA-CHANGO, Jessica Nataly; ALBORNOZ-ZAMORA, Elsa Josefina  y  DONOSO-NORONA, Riber Fabián. Interpretation of critical nursing care in adults with cerebrovascular disease. Salud y Vida [online]. 2025, vol.9, n.esp1, pp.429-439.  Epub 30-Oct-2025. ISSN 2610-8038.  https://doi.org/10.35381/s.v.v9i1.4684.

Objective:

To interpret critical nursing care in adults with cerebrovascular disease.

Method:

Exploratory systematic review using PRISMA methodology in PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, with 15 selected articles.

Results:

Nursing interventions in post-stroke patients require interdisciplinary work. The application of neurological assessment scales, the management of intravenous thrombolysis, and mechanical thrombectomy are essential, considering the time of evolution for timely decisions. Staff monitor progress and participate in early rehabilitation.

Conclusions:

The management of patients with ischemic stroke requires specialized nursing knowledge, where pharmacological management and hemodynamic monitoring increase the probability of recovery, with active participation in the multidisciplinary team being essential for the patient's return to daily life.
