Objective:
To interpret nursing interventions in patients with complications due to Fournier's gangrene in the intensive care unit.
Method:
Exploratory, descriptive and retrospective study through bibliographic review. Documents from Medline, Scielo, VHL, SCOPUS and Google Scholar were analyzed using keywords: nursing care, Fournier's gangrene, complications. Selection followed PRISMA parameters.
Results:
From 192 initial sources, 102 were eliminated by exclusion criteria and 52 by non-relevant content, resulting in 38 sources for analysis. Main risk factors include diabetes mellitus, male gender and advanced age. Most frequent complications are sepsis, multi-organ failure and septic shock.
Conclusions:
Nursing interventions require strict assessment of altered domains: nutrition, elimination, safety, protection and comfort, with rigorous monitoring of infectious risk.
