Introduction:
The project for the implementation of an institutional physical health surveillance plan at the Instituto Superior Tecnológico de Formación Profesional Administrativa y Comercial, carried out between 2023 and 2025, aimed to promote a healthy environment and improve the well-being of students, faculty, and administrative staff.
Objective:
To foster a healthy environment and enhance the overall well-being of the educational community.
Materials and Methods:
The study employed a mixed-methods approach (quantitative and qualitative), encompassing three phases: initial diagnosis, implementation of the surveillance plan, and evaluation of results. Data were collected through surveys, semi-structured interviews, and medical records to assess the impact of the activities on participants’ health and habits. Notable achievements included the consolidation of a healthy institutional environment, continuous medical care, reduced absenteeism, and improved health habits. The project also involved staff training and enhancements to the health infrastructure.
Results:
The plan focused on preventive activities such as educational campaigns, preventive medical care, and informative sessions, aiming to detect health issues at their earliest stages. Despite budgetary and time constraints, the project achieved 100% of its goals, resulting in a significant improvement in the quality of life and health of the educational community.
Conclusion:
Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the implementation of health plans in educational institutions is crucial for community well-being and for enhancing academic and work performance. The success of the project highlights the importance of planning and adaptability in the face of challenges, as well as the need for efficient resource management. Detailed budget planning and the pursuit of additional funding sources are recommended for future initiatives.
