Abstract

Introduction:

A documentary review was conducted on the production and publication of research related to work stress and academic stress within the family dynamics of nursing students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objective:

To analyze the main bibliometric characteristics of publications indexed in the Scopus database during the 2020-2021 period on the aforementioned topic.

Materials and methods:

A bibliometric design was applied through a documentary review of publications in Scopus. The information was organized into tables and figures, classifying the results by year of publication, country of origin, field of knowledge, and type of publication. In addition, a qualitative analysis was performed to identify the positions of different authors regarding the subject matter.

Results:

A total of 38 publications were identified. The United States accounted for the highest scientific output with 18 documents. The field of Nursing contributed the largest share with 21 publications, while the predominant type of publication was the journal article, representing 95% of the total scientific production.

Conclusion:

Scientific production on work and academic stress among nursing students during the pandemic was concentrated mainly in the United States, within the field of Nursing, and with a predominance of journal articles. These findings highlight a growing trend to strengthen research on mental health in academic and professional nursing contexts, providing a basis for future lines of study.
