Introduction:
Anxiety has become a concerning phenomenon in Argentina, affecting diverse populations and posing a significant challenge for public health.
Objective:
To analyze current trends in the treatment of anxiety and the need for a comprehensive approach that considers the social and cultural context of the country.
Materials and Methods:
A literature review was conducted on the prevalence of anxiety disorders, the impact of socioeconomic factors, and intervention strategies that go beyond medication.
Results:
An increase in psychological distress was observed, particularly notable among vulnerable groups. The lack of resources in the healthcare system and the influence of pharmaceutical companies limit access to adequate treatments. Multidisciplinary interventions and public policies are crucial to addressing the underlying causes of anxiety.
Conclusion:
It is urgent to develop a comprehensive therapeutic approach that considers the patient's narrative and promotes prevention from an early age, advocating for mental health as a fundamental right.
