VALENZUELA VELASCO, Cesar; BENALCAZAR DALFO, Gabriela e DELGADO SAETEROS, Zuleyma. Inventory Management in Entrepreneurial Organizations: A Theoretical Approach. Prohominum [online]. 2024, vol.6, n.2, pp.193-204. Epub 15-Dez-2024. ISSN 2665-0169. https://doi.org/10.47606/acven/ph0242.
Currently, a significant number of companies and entrepreneurs find themselves with the necessity to efficiently manage inventories of raw materials, processes, components, supplies, and finished products in order to achieve competitiveness at the moment of offering services to customers. Inventory management is tied to the value this activity represents, as well as to marketing strategies and tactics that ensure the timely availability of requirements based on time and space for service optimization. It adheres to flexible models that link internal variations of the production process and external market demands for the optimization of the involved processes. Therefore, the objective involves studying inventory management from a theoretical perspective, with an emphasis on the entrepreneurship sector. This research focuses on a literature review supported by techniques of information gathering, reading and understanding, analysis, and selection of information for its organized projection, which have been extracted from databases such as Scielo, Science Direct, Scopus, Google Scholarly, Redalyc, and other online sources. The search was oriented towards the use of related terminology and Boolean operators, of a descriptive nature, which allows projecting the sense and importance of inventory management as an activity contributing to income generation for companies and to efficient production based on actual requirements.
