NAVARRETE ENRIQUEZ, Roxanne Morelia; REMACHE CACHIMUEL, Joseline Tatiana e REYES, Víctor Manuel. Use of digital tools and academic performance in nursing students: a case study in a Technological Institute. Prohominum [online]. 2024, vol.6, n.2, pp.227-242. Epub 15-Dez-2024. The use of digital tools (HD) and their relationship with the academic performance (AR) of 128 nursing students of a Technological Institute was explored. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional approach was assumed, where all the students in the study group were selected. A questionnaire was administered for the variable HD (Scale 1-5; α: 0.87), and scores and levels were observed. A descriptive and non-parametric correlational analysis was performed (Test- Spearman; α: 0.05). D1-Technological presented a mean of 4.21±0.494. D2- Informational had a mean of 3.85±0.486. D3-Communicative had a mean of 3.95±0.623. A mean of 79.5±9.38 was obtained, indicating that, on average, participants reached a High level in the use of HDs. Significant correlations were identified between the HD dimensions and the overall level, with a p-value <.001, indicating the strengths of the model. The AR had a mean of 7.70±0.845, which was rated as good. The Spearman correlation between HD use and AR levels (𝑟ho=0.67) is statistically significant (𝑝=0.048 < 0.05; Ho rejected). The case analysed validates in practice the model of Lozano Zapata (2017), adapted by Pérez Vertiz (2022). Its use allowed demonstrating high levels of HD use and its significant relationship with students' AR.
