Introduction: Public Procurement, are strategic tools that allow the acquisition of goods or services for the satisfaction of public needs, and considering the aspects of Agenda 2030, they are related to green procurement, because procurement should seek to minimize environmental risks and maximize benefits. Objective: to develop a bibiographic analysis on Public Procurement and green purchasing, specifically if they are focused on environmental care, Methodology: It is a literature review, for which databases such as Scopus, Proquest, Scielo, Redalyc and others have been used.Results: It is evidenced that, in Latin America, Public Procurement still does not offer effective results regarding acquisitions ranging from the purchase of buildings, equipment to food whose inputs, materials and processes must contemplate environmental aspects. Conclusion: In order to be sustainable and in accordance with the SDG-12, Public Procurement should promote green procurement, based on environmental criteria, in order to avoid environmental pollution.
