Abstract

The article exposes managerial convictions and beliefs as symbolic actions that define the culture of each organization, giving it a strategic orientation and direction, thus providing the possibility of interpreting the values that become a collective system increasingly exposed to environments of continuous creativity, innovation and competitiveness. For the development of this article, the objective was established to explain how beliefs in the managerial field affect the strategic performance of the organization. A methodology was used that includes the semantic interpretation of the data using the hermeneutic method. For the semiotic analysis and the creation of significant representations of beliefs and myths, the stages of the theory of semiosis were adapted. The methods used to obtain data included semi-structured interviews with key informants, as well as an analysis matrix that considered the dimensions of the study. In conclusion, the following categories were identified: Articulated symbolic action; Flexible or adaptive leadership; Flexible and evolutionary strategic approach.
