Globalization has brought great technological advances to the educational sector, whose trends demand new changes in the professional profile of teachers in the use of digital resources applied to teaching. Technology in a digital society demands changes in educational models, policies, and strategies, which means monitoring the level of professional preparation for its correct application and teacher performance. The research aimed to know and analyze digital teaching competence (CDD) by integrating ICT in teaching-learning at a public educational institution in ICA. Technological advances demand educational changes and models with the implementation of educational tools in teaching and learning. The study was framed in the interpretive paradigm, method, and design of action research with a qualitative approach, descriptive type, and longitudinal section, carried out through the interview technique with 15 school teachers. The study revealed that teachers' digital competence plays an important role in their pedagogical practices and leads to better results in teaching-learning, suggesting the need to strengthen the CDD in managing digital skills and abilities, currently requiring training and capacity building to meet new student demands. It was concluded that there is a need to address the challenges associated with integrating ICTs, such as the digital divide and the lack of ongoing teacher training, to create more dynamic, relevant, and equitable learning environments.
