The opening of a new graduate program for graduates in Arts and Humanities Pedagogy in the central zone of Ecuador, is presented as an opportunity for the National University of Chimborazo (UNACH), in its mission to strengthen the articulation of the institution with the social, productive and cultural sectors, to contribute to local, regional and national sustainable development, thus contributing to the improvement of the quality of life. The objective of this research is to analyze the relevance for the creation of a graduate program for zone 3 of Ecuador. To do so, it is necessary to start from a study of relevance from the holistic approach fully embraced in the Educational Model of the UNACH, which seeks to determine aspects related to the main axes for the current training demanded by society and especially education, where the actions of this professional will have a hold.
