The general objective of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the "Sowing Life" program for the transformation of environmental awareness in elementary school students. The methodology of the study consisted of a quasi-experimental design, with a sample of 43 students. Initially, the results in the pre-test showed the level of environmental awareness with average prevalence for the experimental and control groups; but in the post-test, the level increased in the experimental group to 60%. There was also evidence of greater development in the cognitive and conative dimensions of environmental awareness in this group. It was concluded, therefore, that the "Sowing Life" program was effective with an increase in all dimensions, but the significant increases in environmental awareness were only in the cognitive and conative dimensions; the affective and active dimensions should be improved.
