The game, using reading, helps to encourage children's desire, passion for reading, imagination, human relations, comprehension and critical thinking. These didactic strategies contribute to the teaching-learning process. The objective of the research is to evaluate the use of didactic strategies that combine games and reading and their contribution to the development of critical thinking in primary education. The research uses a mixed and quasi-experimental, descriptive approach. The sample is part of an inter-institutional project of an educational network, with a population of 92 children, between 6 and 7 years old, in four classrooms in Mexico and Colombia. A diagnostic study was carried out, activities integrating play and reading were proposed and implemented, children were interviewed about them and a final evaluation was carried out contrasting the initial results, showing significant improvements.
