The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between social skills and cooperative learning in adolescents belonging to the fifth year of secondary education in an educational institution in Trujillo-Peru. Through non-probabilistic sampling, a sample of 172 students between 16 and 18 years old was selected. Two data collection instruments were applied: Social Skills Assessment Scale by Arnold Goldstein et al. (1980), and the Cooperative Learning Measurement Questionnaire (CAC) with 0.908 and 0.930 reliability respectively. The results showed that there is a highly significant relationship (p<0.01) between social skills and cooperative learning, with a correlation coefficient Rho = 0.835. Thus, it was concluded that social skills play a crucial role in enhancing cooperative learning in adolescents.
