DIAZ-CHIENG, Lee Yang; RODRIGUEZ-TORRES, Esteban; PEREZ-SEVILA, Yannelis  e  MACIAS-BESTARD, Camilo. Informational competencies and motivation: theoretical references in higher medical education. Episteme Koinonía [online]. 2025, vol.8, n.15, pp.28-44.  Epub 01-Jun-2025. ISSN 2665-0282.  https://doi.org/10.35381/e.k.v7i14.4354.

Information competencies (IC) have become an elementary part of the processes that directly affect university education, specifically those linked to the integration and use of information for the acquisition of knowledge. In turn, motivation is involved in the development of these, becoming one of the priority variables that takes place in these competencies. In this sense, the objective is aimed at addressing the need for training and development of IC to achieve progress in professional performance based on motivation as an affective component. A systematized review study with a qualitative approach was carried out to determine the aspects related to motivation and IC in the university context. It is determined that both IC and motivation must be intertwined, thus achieving favorable results in the university teaching-learning process (PEA).
