The objective of the research was to demonstrate that didactic processes (DP) improve the writing of narrative texts (ETN) in elementary school students of educational institutions. The methodology was applied with quantitative approach and quasi-experimental design; 42 elementary school students from educational institutions in Ascope participated. The instrument used was the checklist and the objective test. The results indicated that the didactic processes significantly improved the students' writing of narrative texts, with a value of p < 0.05 (0.000). Before the intervention, 38.1% of the students were at the initial level; after the treatment, 76.2% reached the achieved level. In addition, efficacy was evidenced in the beginning, knot and denouement dimensions, indicating that the students developed skills to organize their ideas in a coherent manner. In conclusion, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected.
