The increasing use of tools such as ChatGPT in the university context has a positive impact on improving academic practice and optimizing teaching work. The objective of this research is to analyze the use of ChatGPT by university professors in their academic activities, as a means of its efficient use in pedagogical processes. The study adopted a non-experimental design with a qualitative, cross-sectional approach and descriptive scope. It proposes identifying the areas where this tool is most widely used, and assessing faculty perceptions, benefits, and limitations. This understanding is essential to promoting responsible, ethical, and efficient use of ChatGPT, aligned with the pedagogical objectives of higher education. Therefore, it is confirmed that the use of this artificial intelligence strengthens the educational process and contributes to teacher training in accordance with the principles of quality, responsibility, and ethics in higher education.
