The objective of this research was to apply the cooperative learning strategy to improve text comprehension in high school students. For this purpose, an applied, quantitative research was carried out using a pre-experimental design with pre- and post-test. The sample consisted of 30 students from the VI cycle of secondary school considered as the experimental group, obtained through a non-probabilistic sampling. The problem-solving technique was used to measure text comprehension and its dimensions, and the objective test was used as the data collection instrument. The results indicated an improvement in text comprehension with a mean of 11.77 of the students in the post-test. Likewise, in the hypothesis test, it was concluded that the cooperative learning strategy significantly influences the improvement of text comprehension in high school students.
