The general objective of the research was to analyze the environmental awareness of high school students. A quantitative approach was adopted, which allowed the collection of numerical data, which were statistically analyzed. It also relied on the analytical-synthetic method. In the study, a population of first grade high school students was chosen, in a total of 46 distributed in two sections, “A” and “B”, according to the official enrollment lists, called experimental and control groups. Then, the non-probabilistic sampling method was used, selecting 25 students from section “A” of the first grade high school. It was concluded that it is important for the educational community of the IE to promote community involvement, including families and the local community in eco-environmental actions, such as recycling, reforestation or awareness campaigns.
