GUZMAN-GUTIERREZ, Yuri Araceli; DURAN-LLARO, Kony Luby e MUCHA-HOSPINAL, Luis Florencio. Research skills to improve critical thinking in elementary school students. Episteme Koinonía [online]. 2025, vol.8, n.esp1, pp.334-357. Epub 20-Jun-2025. ISSN 2665-0282. https://doi.org/10.35381/e.k.v8i1.4476.
The objective of this research was to evaluate the impact of a research skills program on the development of critical thinking in elementary school students, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4, which seeks to ensure inclusive, equitable and excellent quality education. The research was quasiexperimental, with a pre-test and post-test design. The population consisted of 120 elementary school students, from which a sample of 24 students was selected for the experimental group and 24 students for the control group. The results showed a significant improvement in the critical thinking skills of the experimental group. In the logical and criterial dimension, 71% reached the achievement level. Finally, in the pragmatic dimension, 75% of the experimental group reached this level. In conclusion, the program proved to be effective in the development of the three dimensions of critical thinking.
