The objective was to analyze social-emotional skills and a culture of peace in the Colombian school context. The method was approached from a quantitative paradigm, adopting a descriptive methodology with a non-experimental design. This approach was articulated through documentary-bibliographic analysis. The documentary-bibliographic analysis was based on the methodical, rigorous, and in-depth exploration of documentary material. This phase focused on the management and critical analysis contained in various sources, such as indexed scientific articles and relevant academic documents. In this order, the documentary study population consisted by scientific articles published in high-impact indexed journals. It was concluded that social-emotional competencies are at the heart of the culture of peace in Colombia. Peace in schools is a daily process based on people's ability to recognize and respect each other and manage their differences without resorting to violence.
