The overall objective of this research was to analyze artificial intelligence as a teaching resource to strengthen communication in elementary schools in Colombia. The method used for this research was a literature review, which sought to gather and critically evaluate a wide range of written sources and documents. This included a detailed study of peer-reviewed articles and government agencies. This was complemented by the analytical-synthetic method. It is concluded that the implementation of artificial intelligence as a teaching tool in Colombian elementary schools represents a significant shift toward a pedagogy that fosters critical thinking and adaptability. Artificial intelligence does not function as a replacement for teachers’ work, but rather as a powerful catalyst that enables teachers to reevaluate their role as social mediators and ethical guides by taking on administrative and data-processing tasks.
