Resumen

SERRANO-CASTILLO, Byron Jesús; HERRERA-MORALES, Greys Carolina  y  JIMENEZ-GUTIERREZ, Mirian Yolanda. Water treatment for agricultural use. Case: agrosilvopastoril project, Orellana, Ecuador. Agroecología Global [online]. 2024, vol.6, n.10, pp.4-22.  Epub 30-Jun-2024. ISSN 2665-0290.  https://doi.org/10.35381/a.g.v6i10.3182.

The objective of this research was to design a water treatment for agricultural use on the farms that are part of the agrosilvopastoral project located in the province of Orellana Ecuador. Regarding the methodology used, the starting point was to measure the flows, establishing sampling points strategically located at the sources of four farms. The results showed that the average flow rates fluctuate between 0.01 and 503.38 L/s; that the concentrations of copper, iron, pH and fecal coliforms exceeded the permissible limits established in current environmental regulations; The design flow was determined based on the maximum consumption by type and stage of cultivation, in addition to the consumption of livestock use. In conclusion, this study provides a comprehensive basis for the design and implementation of a water treatment system adapted to the characteristics specific to the study area and the needs of silvopastoral use.
