Abstract

ESCALANTE, Amely Dolibeth Vivas  and  DORIA VELARDE, Adán. MOODLE PLATFORM AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF EDUCATION STUDENTS. Aula Virtual [online]. 2024, vol.5, n.11, pp.227-242.  Epub Apr 15, 2024. ISSN 2665-0398.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10465797.

The objective of this study is to determine the influence between the application of the Moodle platform and the academic performance of students at a university located in Santiago de Chile between the periods 2015-2019. This arises from the concern that students pass the subjects with very low averages of 4.8 in Mathematics on a scale of 1 to 7. The interest in carrying out this research is to see if innovating with the use of platforms such as Moodle within this subject Students improve their passing averages and the failure rate decreases, since with these results we want to ensure that Mathematics stops being a complex subject due to the high failure rate. For this purpose, it will be evaluated how the use of the Moodle platform influences academic performance. Evaluating the cohorts of the years 2015 - 2017 who made up the control group will be evaluated because they did not use the platform during the course of the subject, comparing them with the cohorts from the years 2018 - 2019 who did use it. All this with the academic interest in improving the academic performance of students through the use of said platform and thus improve their theoretical and practical knowledge to favor them in their curricular advancement and facilitate their performance in the other subjects of the specialty.
