DORIA VELARDE, Adán; CLAROS DIANDERAS, Luis Enrique e PACHAS APOLAYA, Carlos Enrique. TOWARDS A PARADIGMATIC CHANGE IN THE QUALIFICATION OF PHYSICAL EFFORT TESTS IN THE ADMISSION PROCESS OF A MILITARY SCHOOL: A PROPOSAL FOR INCLUSIVITY. Aula Virtual [online]. 2024, vol.5, n.11, pp.243-259. Epub 15-Abr-2024. ISSN 2665-0398. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10465803.
This research analyzes the admission process and the eliminatory nature of physical performance tests in a military school between 2020 and 2023 in its regular and advanced admission processes. The methodological strategy had the "Coronel Francisco Bolognesi" Military School of Chorrillos as a case study. A quantitative approach and a longitudinal descriptive design were adopted to analyze the results, using information from the tests carried out on the applicants. The current evaluation of physical fitness tests administered by military schools in Peru is conducted under the same paradigm: selection by elimination. The results show that physical effort tests, such as push-ups (47%), the 1500-meter run (27%) and the swimming test (15.20%), have high failure rates, leading to elimination of a significant number of applicants (33%) with academic and psychological skills suitable for a military career. It is proposed to discard the eliminatory paradigm of physical effort tests, in order to avoid the exclusion of applicants with appropriate academic skills to become future leaders in the army.
