The present essay, the product of research, aims to determine the management of barter as an entity that generates agreements and agreements between public and private institutions that allow the integration of the University with the regional, national and international sphere, the idea is to be able to contribute with the execution of projects in an institution and with the economic development of the region of the country. The study was developed using the ethnographic method and a documentary review; Since, it is exposed how the trajectory of this phenomenon has been and the impact it has generated in many Latin American countries and in ours; and that allowed obtaining relevant information and transcendent conceptual criteria on the topic, contemplating the review of different data of a scientific nature from experts, which contributed to the achievement of the stated objective. The results outline how barter has been used in universities in different Latin American countries and in Venezuela.
