MENDOZA ALVA, Cecilia Eugenia; LUJAN VILLEGAS, Jaime Fernando; CHURA YUPANQUI, Edy y PERALTA GUZMAN, Cristian Alonso. TEACHING AND LEARNING IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMPETENCE "CONSTRUCTS HISTORICAL INTERPRETATIONS" IN BASIC EDUCATION. Aula Virtual [online]. 2024, vol.5, n.12, e276. Epub 19-Jul-2024. The main objective of this research study is to define the teaching-learning process in basic education based on competencies. The methodology applied is descriptive, using a qualitative documentary-type review. The data was collected through summary and information synthesis sheets, which will allow the results to be presented in a coherent manner after processing and logically relating the information to the stated objectives. It is highlighted that competency-based teaching requires changes in didactics that are oriented towards the development of students' skills. Assessment by competencies is necessary to determine levels of achievement in the learning acquired and promote critical and interpretive thinking based on historical facts. This is achieved through creative problem solving, involving the student as the protagonist of their own learning. It is concluded that learning should be based on the student's own experience, with a focus on interaction with the environment and reflection on the foundations of society. In addition, the importance of students contributing to current social and cultural enrichment is emphasized.
